New Patient Information
Acupuncture is effective in treating a variety of conditions, and beginning treatment can be a scary or unnerving experience - especially if one doesn't know what to expect on the first visit. The purpose of this page is to provide you with enough knowledge to ease your concerns and answer many of your questions.
If you are new to acupuncture, it is highly recommended that you read the frequently asked questions. You should find answers to many of your questions answered on this page, and those that are not answered we can address on your first visit.
An acupuncture intake will last approximately 2 hours. The intake session includes a full medical history, a medical assessment, and an acupuncture treatment. A physical examination may be required for treatment of skeletal and muscular issues or chronic conditions. During the intake, a treatment plan will be developed with your practitioner. It is highly recommended that you wear loose fitting clothing or items that can be easily removed. Follow up acupuncture treatments last approximately an hour.
To maximize the time spent with you in the treatment room on your initial visit, please take a few moments to read Ixchel Wellness' 2014 Office Policies. Please also complete and sign the Patient Registration and Informed Consent prior to arriving for your acupuncture intake.
